In
the over 28 years I've operated a Lake Lanier striper and bass
fishing guide business, the cooler and colder months have always
been our best striper months and it is equally exceptional for
bass, also. And on a pleasant and cool guided Lake Lanier fishing
day, Dr. Joan McBee caught quality bass and stripers and among
them were two great
trophy Lake Lanier stripers that
each weighed a hefty
29 and 25 pounds. Dr. McBee had
this to say about the guided Lake Lanier fishing day with Harold
Nash: "We had a great time fishing with Harold Nash! It couldn't
have been a better day! Mr. Nash knows Lake Lanier better than
anyone on that lake and he took us right to where the big ones
were." And
a magnificent and great 41
inch long, 36 1/2 pound bonafide
trophy Lake Lanier striper shows the fanastic quality of
giant trophy fish taken by Harold Nash Lake
Lanier Fishing Guide Service customers year in and
year out during this premier time period. Water surface temperatures
have remained stable, lake levels haven't fallen much, and fish
have remained very active. Call 770/967-6582 or write hlnash@charter.net
today to reserve your fishing day of a lifetime or to purchase
your fishing gift certificate for Christmas
or other gift giving occasions.
And,
yes, I am absolutely still scheduling and doing guided trips!
As has been well publicized, the lake previously reached record
low levels, but I anticipate the reduced boat traffic and minimal
fishing pressure has greatly benefited the upcoming fishing for
both bass and stripers and the coming months will be great ones.
Remember, too, that we offer stylish personalized gift certificates and they provide the perfect solution for
all your Christmas, Father's Day, birthday, and other gift giving needs.
Just call 770/967-6582
or write hlnash@charter.net
and we handle everything else.
Also,
as predicted, the year has so far been very productive and one
Harold Nash guided trip produced a magnificent
28 pound striper boated on 6 pound
line and ultralight tackle. Total tally on this beautiful guided
Lake Lanier fishing trip day with Harold Nash was 27 stripers and 5 bass with three of the stripers exceeding 20
pounds. The successful father and son team were obviously very
happy. Two excited brothers completed another exceptional guided
fishing day with Harold Nash and happily boated a big 26 1/2 pound Lake Lanier
trophy striper, a big 24 pounder,
and a number of other large trophy-sized stripers and bass. Several
of these magnificent big Lanier stripers exploded when they struck
the lure. And another very tickled Harold Nash regular customer
boated a massive 31 pound trophy striper
and there have been a number of other big trophy stripers and
bass taken by Harold Nash customers
recently. And another great trophy taken on another successful
and memorable Harold Nash guided trip was a magnificent 8 1/2 pound largemouth bass. Both stripers and
bass have remained active and aggressive. The exact location
of strikes has changed daily and the recent overall fishing has
been a bit streaky at times, but all in all results have remained
good. As for recent strikes, some have been very crisp and some
have been a great deal more subtle, but some fish have stayed
in shallow water in a few areas and these fish have been active
and catchable. Guided trips may be scheduled by phoning 770/967-6582 or by writing hlnash@charter.net.
From
a numbers perspective, some of the bait schools and fish have
remained in the twenty to forty foot depth range and, while these
fish are much easier to find using quality electronics, they also
can be a bit harder to catch. In some cases, these deeper fish
have been around modestly large bait schols and this, in itself,
can make strikes harder to get. Cooler weather has the effect
of concentrating bait schools and this can have the effect of
concentrating fish in much larger groups, but it won't necessarily
dramatically increase the ability to get strikes in every case.
Oftentimes, fewer fish around a lesser amount of bait will prove
to be
much more catchable
than a greater number of fish around a much larger quantity of
baitfish. Also, there is some limited surface activity and some
fish are shallow. As always, I'll do my best to have a handle
on current fishing conditions, I and my customers will fish in
a legitimate and sporting way, I'll always present matters in
a completely truthful light, and I'll engage in absolutely none
of this sickening dishonesty and falsification that has become
so prevalent in so many of these false and fabricated internet
"fishing reports" in which the "fishing guide"
reports all these fabulously magnificent and hugely successful
fishing days. For those interested, please review my comments
at www.lanierfishingguide.com/bass/chooseaguide.html.
From
a production standpoint, two excited customers who completed a
guided Lake Lanier fishing trip with
Harold Nash caught a magnificent 27
1/2 pound Lake Lanier striped bass and
a high number of hard fighting quality spotted bass. On another
recent Harold Nash guided fishing trip
(guided trips can be scheduled by phoning 770/967-6582
or by writing hlnash@charter.net)
a very happy customer boated a big trophy 25 pound Lake Lanier
striper on light tackle. The giant striper chased baitfish to
the surface and a quick cast later the big fish was hooked and
the happy customer boated the trophy after a magnificent fight.
This was a fishing gift certificate
trip and the 25 pound trophy has been delivered to a taxidermist
and the customer will have a highly valued lifelong prize. On
another recently completed Harold Nash
guided Lake Lanier fishing trip a very
excited young lady single-handledly boated a 20 pound Lake Lanier
striper and then a giant 6 pound Lake Lanier spotted bass. She
and her boyfriend also boated several other trophy
fish and had a great time.
And
a recent Harold Nash guided
Lake Lanier fishing trip with a father
and son team produced twenty-two
stripers and three bass that
weighed an approximated 290
pounds. And Dr. Parker Grow,
Emory University School of Medicine, just completed a very successful
guided fishing day with Harold Nash
and said: "Great time fishing! Excellent day out on Lake
Lanier!" Included in the day's catch was a magnificent
26 pound Lake Lanier striper. Another
trip produced a total catch of 125 pounds that included a 27 pound
striper, an 8 pound largemouth bass, and a 23 pound striper taken
on ultralight tackle and 6 pound test line. Customers had another
over 100 pound day the next day and boated a second 8 pound largemouth bass and a 24 pound striper and the day after
that customers boated 15 quality fish. On another 2006
guided trip an
excited Harold Nash customer boated a 30 pound trophy Lake Lanier striper and the total catch for
the day was 150
pounds. This successful guided trip - as are all
Harold Nash Lake Lanier guide trips -
was done solely by casting artificial lures on light to
medium tackle. Absolutely
no trolling, no live bait, and no heavy tackle.
After a recently completed Harold Nash Lake
Lanier guide trip a very satisfied customer put the entire
process in perspective: "Harold,
thank you so much for the great day of fishing. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. I appreciate
you allowing me to pick your brain about fishing only with artificial lures. Your way is so much more fun than dragging around live
baits and umbrella rigs all day." A
number of other recent Harold Nash Lake Lanier
guide trips have resulted in a high number of true trophy-sized
Lake Lanier stripers and bass being caught and it is anticipated
these exceptional results will only get better in the coming weeks.

As
mentioned, Lake Lanier fishing days can
be very successful and very satisfactory and, as an excited Harold Nash customer who just enjoyed a Lake Lanier guided fishing trip with Harold Nash excitedly put it: "Harold, I just wanted to tell you what an
outstanding job you do and I've thoroughly enjoyed every trip
we've done. Fishing with you has been fun, productive, and educational."
And a long-time customer wrote: "Thank you again for a
wonderful day of Lake
Lanier fishing...You demonstrated again why you are regarded
as the best striper fishing guide on Lake
Lanier." Harold Nash customers have taken Lake Lanier
stripers over 40 pounds, Lake Lanier largemouth bass over 11 pounds,
and a near Georgia State record Lake Lanier spotted bass over
7 1/2 pounds. Just call 770/967-6582 or write hlnash@charter.net

Lake Lanier stripers
and bass can often be found by
identifying the very visible surface action caused by their
dramatic chasing of baitfish to the surface. This can be fast-paced
and very explosive, but in other cases this telltale surface activity
isn't overly obvious, but it can still often be found if someone
understands the process. And these fish will frequently smash
topwater lures with an exploding fury. I thoroughly enjoy Lake Lanier topwater fishing and without
question it represents the finest elements of Lake Lanier sportfishing.
The
trollers, live baiters,
and other non-sportsmen who always overmatch the fish and take
an anything goes approach with their heavy line and their oversized
tackle aren't going to find much interest in this. Harold
Nash Lake Lanier Fishing Guide Service, however, uses the
sportfishing style of casting artificial
lures on light to medium tackle. Customers receive the full
sporting thrill of individually making the cast, retrieving the
lure, seeing and feeling
the strike,
and then having the spine-tingling experience of personally hooking
and battling these awesome Lake Lanier stripers
and Lake Lanier bass. A fisherman who
does it the right way and succeeds in a fair and sporting fashion
has truly accomplished something and deserves to feel good about
his achievement and to be proud of his catch. Anglers with real
regard for sportfishing and who enjoy
and appreciate angling's finer points
find these opportunities memorable, rewarding, and hugely exciting.
To schedule a prime Lake Lanier fishing
date just call (770/967-6582) or write (hlnash@charter.net),
but don't wait too long or until all available dates are taken.
Anglers of all experience levels are welcome and groups of all
sizes can be accommodated.
Many Harold Nash Lake
Lanier fishing trips produced exceptional results and a lot
of fine fishing memories for Harold Nash
customers. In
fact, on a Harold
Nash fishing guide trip
an appreciative customer boated a giant 38 pound, 42 inch trophy striper on light tackle and 8 pound
line. Another Lake Lanier guided trip produced a giant
trophy 30 pound Lake Lanier striper and a massive 23 1/2 pounder for a happy
father and son team and another recent Harold Nash Lanier
guide trip
produced three trophy Lake Lanier stripers in the 25 pound range.
On another Lake
Lanier fishing
adventure this year, a delighted husband and wife couple had three
exciting days of fishing with Harold Nash and on one day boated
35 stripers and
2 spotted bass.
And on another recent guided Lake Lanier fishing trip, 8 year
Nick Wolaver of Loganvile single-handedly boated an 18 pound striper
on a birthday fishing
gift certificate guide trip
with Harold Nash. Nick's comments were: "I just loved that."
Nick's brother Zack boated a handsome and fat 21 pound Lanier
striper. Last year Zack boated a 7 pound spotted bass on his fishing
gift certificate
guide trip for his birthday. Nick, Zack, and their father Todd
had another exceptional Lake
Lanier fishing
day. Todd has taken a 37 pound trophy striper and has had several
300 pound days while fishing with Harold Nash. The
exceptional prime fall season does, however, book up quickly so
anyone wishing to schedule one of these prime top-notch fishing
dates should contact Harold
Nash Lake Lanier Fishing Guide
Service today by phone (770/967-6582)
or e-mail (hlnash@charter.net)
to reserve your day of Lake Lanier fishing.
On
another Harold
Nash fishing guide trip
a very excited long-time Harold Nash customer boated a great 27
pound Lake Lanier striper and a hard fighting 19 pound striper
on ultralight
tackle and 6 pound line.
This fisherman has been a loyal and regular
customer of Harold Nash for 20 years. Another
trophy catch included a very fat 8 pound, 4 ounce largemouth bass
and a massive 27 pound striper. Another excellent trophy catch
on a recent Harold
Nash Lake
Lanier fishing guide trip included a giant 30 pound Lake Lanier
striper taken on light tackle and 8 pound line. This magnificent
fish refused to give up and fought valiantly and stubbornly for
a full 45 minutes before finally wearing down completely and being
boated by an ecstatic Harold
Nash customer.
This particular Lake
Lanier fishing
guide trip was for a birthday fishing gift certificate. The customer's father and
brother were equally excited by this great spectacle and memorable
accomplishment.
On another note, a 7 pound, 9 ounce trophy Lake Lanier spotted bass was taken by a very thrilled and excited Harold Nash Lake Lanier Fishing Guide Service customer on a Harold Nash Lake Lanier guided bass and striper fishing trip. Since the Georgia State record is only a few ounces more, this giant Lake Lanier spotted bass represents a true trophy of a lifetime and is one of the biggest spotted bass ever taken in Georgia. This giant spotted bass absolutely smashed a topwater lure and then jumped spectacularly and fought exceptionally hard for an extended time. The customer wrote that he, his father, and brother "had an awesome guided fishing trip. Harold Nash turned a good birthday trip into a great one." But don't delay - if you want an exceptional opportunity for a true trophy Lake Lanier striper or bass contact Harold Nash Lake Lanier Fishing Guide Service today by phone (770/967-6582) or e-mail (hlnash@charter.net) to reserve your prime date.
While
weather has had its ups and downs, portions of the year were extraordinary.
There was a high number of exceptional trophy catches by customers.
One customer caught a 31 pound striper and a 32 1/2 pound striper
(he called it "the fishing trip of
a lifetime") and another customer boated a fat 25 pound
Lanier striper and a gigantic 36
pound Lanier striper (his total
catch for the day exceeded 250
pounds). On a second Lake
Lanier fishing guide trip a short while later, the same customer
and his brother boated 29 Lake Lanier
stripers and bass and on a Lake Lanier guided
fishing trip with Harold Nash he and a friend boated approximately
280 pounds of
Lake Lanier stripers. The number
of trophy Lake Lanier spotted bass has
also been exceptional. In addition to the 7 pound, 9 ounce spotted
bass referenced above, another Harold Nash Lake
Lanier guided fishing trip produced a 7 pounder and the number
of plus-6 pound Lake Lanier spotted bass taken over the past several
months has been extraordinarily high. And Lake Lanier's low water
levels continue to offer several positive advantages, including
reduced boat traffic, improved water quality, and dramatically
reduced fishing pressure.

How long have you been fishing Lake Lanier and how long have you been a Lake Lanier fishing guide?
I own and operate Harold Nash
Lake Lanier
Fishing Guide Service and
I've operated a Lake
Lanier fishing guide
service for over 28 years. I've also been fishing Lake Lanier since it was built. My customers have taken
Lake Lanier
stripers over 40 pounds,
largemouth bass over 11 pounds, and near State of Georgia
record spotted
bass over
7 1/2 pounds. And in one guided day of striper fishing Lake Lanier two of my customers caught
60 Lake Lanier stripers weighing 760 pounds, a "record
for one day of Lake
Lanier fishing."
Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The Journal also said:
"Harold Nash has perfected fishing for stripers on Lake Lanier. He has caught them by the
hundreds, many trophy-sized." And Lakeside on Lanier
wrote: "Harold Nash has been...striper fishing Lake Lanier ever since there were any
stripers to fish for." And Georgia Sportsman said:
"Harold Nash is the most knowledgeable striper fishing guide in Georgia..." And Georgia
Sportsman also said: "If you took all of Lake Lanier's
top bass anglers and corralled them into one giant-sized tackle
box, you'd have to put Harold Nash into a corner all by himself."
My
family bought property on Lake Lanier
and built a lake home after Lake Lanier filled in 1958. Except
for college and the Marines, I've fished, observed, studied, and
enjoyed Lake Lanier and its great
striper and bass fishery since the lake was built. I was bass
fishing Lake Lanier when Lake Lanier was purely a largemouth bass
lake; I was also bass fishing Lake Lanier when spotted bass began
their unexpected emergence in the early '70's; and I began striper
fishing Lake Lanier when the striped bass originally stocked in
1973 grew up and began the way to today's renowned Lake Lanier
striper fishing. I have immense respect for Lake Lanier and for
its great striper and bass gamefish and I only do sportfishing
the right way. I have degrees in Political Science and English;
I am a U.S. Marine Corps Officer of the Vietnam time; and I'm
very proud of my three children.
I've operated a professional Lake
Lanier fishing guide service for over 28 years; my business
is a legitimate full-time, sole-occupation Lake
Lanier fishing guide service; and I'm committed to Lake
Lanier
fishing in a correct and sporting manner. Anyone looking for
a Lake Lanier fishing guide service should carefully consider
this. A vast majority of Lake
Lanier "fishing guides" are part-time only; have
full-time jobs with no relation to fishing; flagrantly inflate
and distort their experience, credentials, and fishing successes;
and often have less knowledge and experience than the customers
who pay them. They also take an "anything goes" approach;
have little regard for Lake Lanier or its great bass and striped
bass; and always seem to follow other boats to their eventual
fishing destination.
I
do not troll, use live bait or cast nets, or use heavy tackle
or unbreakable line. I also don't follow other boats, copy or
imitate others, engage in constant cell phone or two-way radio
conversations, or hang out in fishing stores in an attempt to
recruit customers. Neither do I concoct "fish tales"
nor mislead customers regarding current fishing conditions. My customers use artificial lures and
light to ultralight tackle to take big Lake Lanier stripers and
Lake Lanier bass. I operate a totally independent Lake Lanier
fishing guide service and I am in no way affiliated with other
Lake Lanier
fishing guides.
My business philosophy stresses integrity, truthfulness, and the
use of techniques consistent with the best principles of sportfishing.
To
the point, I operate my business and conduct my Lake Lanier fishing guide trips in a manner quite distinct from other
Lake
Lanier fishing guides.
My philosophies and angling approaches are for the sport-minded
customer who wants a quality Lake Lanier fishing opportunity to take our great trophy Lake
Lanier stripers and bass. I would suggest you also consider visiting
